what have you done, you fool

Oh GOD FINALLY. I'm sorry about the wait, but seriously now, just about every panel from the fifth onwards forced me to figure out how to do something I'd never really attempted before. But I guess that is what I get for trying to make a comic that is both twice the length and far more - well, let's go with ambitious - than normal. But man, I have waited for a long time to do this comic. I hope you guys like it, because this is pretty much where it's been heading ever since it got all serious and boring and talky wah wah wah bring back godfrey

So! A few things have happened since I started making this page (two frelling months ago). Dazi has made some awesome birthday fan art that is right over here, and TalkingToe has provided evidence of yet another vice of Godfrey's. I suppose it is a good thing nobody knows where either of them are or the authorities would be all over them for driving vans and making things explode

And I've read a bunch of books, of course. The Prestige, by Christopher Priest - the book the recent film was based on - is definitely a worthwhile read, and different enough from the movie to keep it interesting whether or not you've seen the adaptation. I also got around to reading Catch-22, which was pretty amusing (though not my sort of thing), and the short story collection Galactic North by Alastair Reynolds, who happens to be one of my favourite authors. 'Nightingale' was very cool, but it's quite predictable and, much like the whole collection, doesn't really stand out from his other work.

On the other hand, the other collection of short stories I just finished turned out to be excellent. Looking for Jake, by China Mieville. There's a lot of variety, and the whole thing is full of cool ideas and on more than one occasion manages to be thoroughly unsettling. It's really very good. I don't think it ever quite surpasses the first story, though. But if you like dark fantasy, pick it the hell up.

And finally, I've made a wallpaper of the last panel. I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
